New Life

So this is my first entry for my first blog ever.  Recently I "came out" to my local church and denomination that I am an alcoholic and addict.  I got nothing but incredible grace and love from all who eagerly wanted to help me.  After Easter I spent four weeks in treatment at Hazelden Betty Ford Clinic in Newberg Oregon and I am presently 44 days sober.  This blog is a chronicle of my recovery.  I got this butterfly tattoo yesterday and it symbolizes the new life, the resurrected life, that I've entered since "coming out" and being honest with myself, God and my church.  I hope you enjoy my musings as I focus on my recovery while being the spiritual leader of a local church.  Blessings to all of you.  Peace, Susan

  1. Dear Sister in Christ,

I cry thinking of the pain you've been through. I cry thanking God for your wisdom and bravery. I cry knowing the many lives you're changing. I cry wanting to hug you and say how very proud I am to call you friend. God bless you,Susan.
    love and peace, Mary

    1. Thank you Mary. No more need to cry. I am better than I have been in years! Praise God.
